Tour Description
On this tour, we combine nature with visits to some of the most picturesque villages in the French Basque Country.
The day will begin at 9 am, when we will pick you up at your accommodation and after crossing the border we will head towards the interior of the French Basque Country, specifically towards the Col de Saint Ignace, where a cog railway will be waiting for us to take us to the summit of Mount La Rhune (905 m).
From this place, we will have spectacular views of the Pyrenees, the Atlantic Coast, the Baztan Valley, the mouth of the Adour River or even San Sebastian. We will enjoy spectacular views and the fauna that this place offers us.
The descent can be done on foot or by train and from there we will go by car to Sara, a cosy French Basque town, which was once a popular place for smugglers and where you cannot miss the typical fronton and the labortano style church with its cemetery.
Ainhoa is our next stop. If there is a town that stands out for its beauty, that is Ainhoa. Founded in the thirteenth century, destroyed in the seventeenth, this beautiful town has been labored as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Our next visit will be to the town of Espelette, known for its peppers, where we will visit a producer and have the opportunity to try some of the typical products of the region.
Here we will end the visits and we will be on our way to your accommodation.
