Tour Description
In this excursion, we would like to give you the opportunity to get to know first-hand, the “Sidreria” (Cider House), one of the longest and deepest traditions of our culture. If you want to feel like a real Basque, then you can not miss this opportunity to discover and enjoy this experience.
We will drive you to the town of Astigarraga, crib of cider. In this place, you will first be brought to the Cider Museum where you will be taught the manufacturing process of this particular and traditional product.
Next you will be taken to one of the numerous Sidreria in the area to enjoy the tradition, the authentic atmosphere and the enjoyment of the cider menu. This menu is based on cod omelette, grilled codfish with green peppers and onions, large grilled T-bone steak and for dessert, walnuts, idiazabal cheese along with a quit portion.
At any point in time you can get a glass of cider from the various “Kupelas” (Basque name for barrels), the “Txotx” cry!
This visit can be done for lunch or dinner.

He engaged with us in an informal, fun and pleasant manner. In Lourdes, he showed us around all the holy and tourist sites including the Grotto, the three Basilicas and spectacular views of the Pyrenees and Lourdes from the top of the Funiculaire du Pic du Jer. Diego created one of the best experiences of our holiday and comes highly recommended.
