Tour Description

On this tour, we discover one of the most mysterious places of this region, Zugarramurdi, and the magnificent cave full of magic and mystery.
You can also discover and taste some of the local products such as sheep cheese or Espelette peppers and their by-products.

First, we will take you to the town of Zugarramurdi, where we start with a visit of the museum of witches, where you will be introduced to the history of what happened in this region during the Inquisition. Later, you will be taken into the cave. These karstic caves, 120 meters long, 12 meters high and 20 meters wide, were generated by the Infernuko Erreka (Hell Creek).

After the visit, you will be brought to a manufacturer of sheep cheese where you can see the production process and taste some of the local products.

Next stop will be the city of Urdax and its cave, which was generated by the Urtxuma River. At this cave, you will see stalactites and stalagmites.

In the afternoon, we will make our first stop in Ainhoa. This small charming town is known as a way point of the Way of St. James and awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Last stop will be Espelette and their famous peppers. You will be taken to a manufacturer where you will learn about the production process of this local product and you can try their derivatives.

Here we will end this tour and prepare for the return to San Sebastian.

Around 17 o’clock we will arrive back in San Sebastian

Private guided tour with Diego
While in San Sebastian on a week long holiday we decided to visit Lourdes in France and was advised by the hotel reception that Diego' s private guided tour to Lourdes would be a good option. Diego picked us up at our hotel and from the moment we met him he was proved to be a respectful and professional guide. His English was impeccable and his knowledge of the Basque Country excellent. He engaged with us in an informal, fun and pleasant manner. In Lourdes, he showed us around all the holy and tourist sites including the Grotto, the three Basilicas and spectacular views of the Pyrenees and Lourdes from the top of the Funiculaire du Pic du Jer. Diego created one of the best experiences of our holiday and comes highly recommended.
