Get ready for an electrifying experience as we provide you with an e-bike and take you on a spectacular tour of San Sebastián (known as Donosti to the locals). You only need to bring your enthusiasm for enjoying this unique experience as we explore the stunning landmarks, architecture, history, gastronomy, and festivals of this internationally beloved city.
We’ll kick off our tour by heading towards Zurriola Beach, with its fine golden sand and strong waves that attract surfers from all over the world. This beach is a surfer’s paradise and its youthful atmosphere draws in young people from all walks of life. Whether you want to catch some waves or simply enjoy the stunning views of the sea and a breathtaking sunset from the “Muro,” (the wall) this beach is the perfect place to do it.
Paradise awaits
We’ll then continue our journey along the Paseo Nuevo, heading towards the harbor, located at the eastern end of the Bay of La Concha, at the foot of the statue of the Sacred Heart and crowning the Urgull mountain. Have you seen pictures of San Sebastián being pounded by the waves? Well, this is where it happens, and might experience it as we ride along this iconic route.
This bustling and well-known spot is one of the nerve centers of the city, and strolling around here is an absolute delight with spectacular views that are sure to take your breath away. On our way to the Bay of La Concha, we’ll pass by one of the city’s most emblematic buildings: the Town Hall. Originally the Grand Casino, it was converted into a town hall in 1947 and is now a historical and artistic monument.
The Bay of La Concha is simply magical and will leave you speechless. It is a spectacular natural setting in the heart of San Sebastián, and its elegant seaside promenade is one of the most visited areas in the city. Its beach is considered one of the best in Europe, and it is a captivating paradise that you simply cannot miss. The bay is also home to Santa Clara Island, another hallmark of San Sebastián. It is one of the few cities in the world that has an island in its bay.
Recharge your batteries with unforgettable experiences
Our next destination is the breathtaking Miramar Palace, located in front of the incomparable setting of the Bay of La Concha. This palace was built in 1893 at the request of Queen Maria Christina, who spent her summers in San Sebastián. It consists of a main building, a park, and majestic gardens, and its clear English style makes it one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
Our next stop is another iconic landmark of San Sebastián: the Peine del Viento (Wind Comb). This marvelous creation by sculptor Eduardo Chillida consists of three steel sculptures, each weighing more than 9 tons and anchored in a rock. This work invites us to experience it under the sky and in front of the sea. The waves crash heavily against the sculpture, and it’s a spectacular sight to see the sea and the wind combing each other.
An Incredible Panorama
After enjoying the Peine del Viento, we will take a cable car up to Monte Igueldo, which rises at one end of the Bay of La Concha and offers an incredible panoramic view (probably one of the best in the city). Get ready to take photos because although these images will stay in your memory forever, you’ll want to share them with friends and family!
From here, we will go to the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd (another symbol of the city). Did you know it has one of the largest organs in Europe? With more than ten thousand pipes and weighing over a thousand tons!
Finally, we will arrive at the Plaza de Guipuzcoa (in the center of San Sebastian), a romantic meeting and resting place for locals. You can end this tour with a Pintxo tour. If you want to experience genuine Basque gastronomy, don’t hesitate to ask us for prices.
