Prepare for a 3-hour (8 km) medium-difficulty hike through Monte Ulia where you’ll capture breathtaking photos of San Sebastián and the Cantabrian Sea, as well as stunning cliffs and coves along the way. Reach the Faro de la Plata, a unique lighthouse with medieval-inspired design, before descending towards the Bay of Pasaia.
From there, we’ll take the stairs down to Pasajes San Pedro, considered the best viewpoint in Donibane, and see the Albaola factory museum where a replica of a 16th-century Basque whaling ship is being reconstructed. Join us for a day full of energy, adventure, and the best of Basque culture!
Let’s not forget about the Basque gastronomy!
Next, we’ll cross the bay by boat to reach the picturesque fishing village of Pasai Donibane (San Juan Passages in Spanish), a unique village with only one cobbled street and beautiful houses, where time seems to have stood still and the smell of the sea lingers in the air.
The amazing views of the bay inspired some of the writings and engravings made by French writer Victor Hugo during his stay in this village in 1843.
We’ll enjoy a delicious menu at a restaurant right in the bay. Basque cuisine is one of the most renowned in Spain and the world for the quality of its raw materials. Are you going to miss it?
