Experience the thrill and excitement of one of the world’s most renowned festivals, San Fermin! From July 6 to July 14, Pamplona comes alive with its biggest celebration of the year. Get ready for a unique and unforgettable experience – witnessing the running of the bulls from a balcony on the course. From your vantage point, you’ll feel the energy, hospitality, and incredible atmosphere that makes this festival one of the best international tourist attractions.
We’ll depart from San Sebastián early in the morning (6:00 am) for the one-hour drive to Pamplona. Did you know that these festivities, in honor of San Fermín (co-patron of Navarra), have their roots in medieval Pamplona from the 12th century? And that the red handkerchief that is worn is in memory of San Fermín’s martyrdom?
Pure Emotion
Once we arrive in Pamplona, we’ll head to the course to feel the emotion, tradition, and joy of the runners and spectators. Your host will be waiting for you on the balcony with a delicious traditional breakfast before the run. The launch of a rocket announces the beginning of the run, which starts on Santo Domingo Hill (where the pens are located). From this moment on, the excitement and nerves will increase among the runners and spectators. It’s a real thrill!
After the run is over, we’ll watch the replay on television and take a walk through the course, stopping at some of the most iconic locations. Before returning to San Sebastián, we’ll have an unmissable appointment at the legendary Café Iruña, the place frequented by writer Ernest Hemingway, who was captivated by the Pamplona festival and immortalized it in his famous novel “Fiesta.” Don’t miss out on the experience that captivated Hemingway!
